Monkey App terms of service
The agreement between you and Monkey App. Plain terms, because a term you cannot understand is not one you agreed to.
1. Who can use this
You must be at least 18 years old. By creating an account you confirm that you are, that the details you give are yours and accurate, and that using this service is lawful where you are. One person, one account. Do not sell, lend or hand your account to anyone else.
2. What the service is
Monkey App gives you access to one-on-one video calls in your browser with people who are available to talk. Who is available changes constantly and is not guaranteed — availability, a particular person, or an uninterrupted connection are not things that can be promised.
3. Coins, prices and billing
- Calls are paid for with coins, which are bought in advance.
- Each person sets her own price. There is no single rate across the service, and a price can differ from one person to the next.
- A new account gets a trial allowance. How much it is is decided automatically, so no fixed number of free minutes is promised anywhere, including here.
- A notice appears on screen before billing starts on a call.
- Coins are for use inside this service. They are not currency, they earn nothing, and they cannot be transferred to another account.
- Payments are taken by the payment provider shown at checkout. Card details are not stored on this service.
If a charge looks wrong, write to support with the date, the amount and the account. It will be looked at properly.
4. Refunds
Coins are digital content and are made available to your account straight away. Because the purchase is delivered immediately, the usual cooling-off period stops applying as soon as you start spending from it — that is what you agree to at checkout.
- Untouched purchases. If you have not spent any of the coins from a purchase, you can ask for that purchase back within 14 days of paying for it.
- Coins you have spent. Not refundable — the calls they paid for already happened.
- Charges that are wrong. A duplicate, an amount you did not authorise, or coins that never arrived: tell support the date and the amount. If the charge was an error it is refunded in full.
- Calls that failed on our side. If a call drops or never connects because of a fault here, the coins it consumed go back to your account.
- A connection that is poor at your end. Not a refundable fault — your own network, camera or device is outside what this service controls.
- Accounts removed for breaking these terms. Unspent coins are not refunded, except where the law where you live requires it.
Refunds go back to the method you paid with. How quickly it appears is down to your bank or payment provider, not to us. Nothing in this section takes away a refund right you have under the law of the country you live in.
5. How you are expected to behave
The rules for a call are in the community guidelines, and they are part of these terms. In short: no one under 18, no harassment or pressure, no hate, no explicit content, no recording other people, no sharing anyone's private information, no impersonation, no advertising, and nothing illegal.
You also agree not to attack the service itself — no scraping, no automated accounts, no working around limits, security checks or a removal.
6. Content you share
What you put on your profile or send in a message stays yours. You give permission to store and display it so the service can work — show your profile to the person you are calling, deliver your messages, and keep the record. You are responsible for having the right to share whatever you share.
7. Enforcement
Reports are read by people. Depending on what is found, an account can be warned, restricted while it is looked at, or removed. Removal is permanent, and a removed account cannot register here again. If you believe a removal was a mistake, write to support with the account and what you were doing at the time.
8. Ending it
You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account from your account settings. This service may also stop providing the service to you if these terms are broken, or if it is required to by law.
9. What is not promised
The service is provided as it is. There is no promise that it will be uninterrupted, that every feature will work on every device, or that a call will meet your expectations. Nothing here excludes liability that the law does not allow to be excluded — including for death, personal injury, or fraud. Beyond that, liability is limited to what you paid for the service in the period the problem arose.
The service is not responsible for what another person says or does on a call. That is what blocking and reporting are for, and both are available at any moment.
10. Changes
These terms can change — the service changes, and so does the law. The date at the top moves when they do, and a change that affects what you pay or what you are allowed to do will be described rather than slipped in. Continuing to use the service after a change means accepting it.
11. Who you are dealing with
This service is monkeyapp.online, and it is run by the team that operates it. Everything to do with your account, a charge or a complaint goes to [email protected], which is read by the people who run the service. If you need to reach us about a legal matter, use the same address and say so in the subject line.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the place this service is operated from, and a dispute that cannot be settled between us goes to the courts there. If you are a consumer, none of this takes away the protection of the law where you live — you keep every right your own country gives you, including where it says a dispute must be heard locally.
Before a dispute becomes formal, write to support. Most problems turn out to be a charge, a connection or a misunderstanding, and those get fixed faster by asking.
