Monkey App community guidelines

One conversation, two people, and a short list of things that keep it worth having.

The short version

  • Everyone here is at least 18 years old.
  • Talk to the person in front of you the way you would want to be talked to.
  • Anything you would not do in front of a stranger in a café, do not do on camera.
  • Report it, block it, or hang up — all three are always available, and you never owe an explanation.

What is expected

A call here is one person talking to one person. Say hello, read the room, and accept an answer the first time you get it. If someone says they would rather not talk about something, that is the end of that subject. If someone ends the call, that is the end of the call.

People come here at different levels of comfort. Somebody who wants to keep the conversation light is not doing it wrong.

What is not allowed

  • Anyone under 18. Not on your side of the camera, not in the room, not in the frame.
  • Harassment and pressure. Insults, threats, sexual pressure, or repeatedly pushing after someone has said no.
  • Hate. Attacking someone for who they are — race, nationality, religion, gender, sexuality, disability.
  • Explicit content. This is not the service for it.
  • Recording other people. Do not record, screenshot or stream someone else's call, and do not publish any part of it anywhere.
  • Other people's private information. Do not share anyone's address, phone number, workplace or accounts.
  • Impersonation and deception. Pretending to be someone else, or running a story designed to get money out of someone.
  • Selling and spamming. Advertising, recruiting, link-dropping, or pushing people onto another platform.
  • Anything illegal where you are or where the other person is.

Your own safety

Never share a password or payment details in a call, with anyone, for any reason — nobody legitimate will ever ask. Be slow with your surname, your address, your workplace and your other accounts; you can always share more later, and never less. If a conversation starts moving towards money, treat it as a reason to stop.

Reporting and blocking

The controls stay within reach during a call. Blocking is immediate and permanent — that person cannot reach you again. Reporting sends the conversation to be looked at; reports are read by people, not closed by a script. Calls are not recorded, so the more specific you can be about what happened, the more there is to act on.

What happens after a report

An account that breaks these rules is removed, and removal is permanent — the account cannot register here again. Depending on what happened, an account may be restricted while it is being looked at.

If you believe an account was removed by mistake, write to support with the account details and what you were doing at the time. The full terms of using the service are in the terms of service.
