Monkey App help

Accounts, coins, cameras and calls — how each one actually works, and what to do when one of them does not.

Getting started

Do I need to install anything?

No. It runs in the browser you already have, on a phone or a computer. There is no app store step and nothing to keep updated. If you want it to behave like an app, your browser's "add to home screen" option gives you an icon that opens straight into it.

Do I need an account?

You can read every page here and run the camera check without one. To start a call you sign in — a call is between two people, and the other person is not talking to an anonymous window.

Which browser works best?

Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android and desktop. The common failure is not a browser at all: opening the site inside another app's built-in browser, which usually blocks camera access. Open it in Safari or Chrome directly.

Calls

How does a call start?

You look through who is available to talk, pick someone, and start a one-on-one call. Your camera and microphone stay off until you allow them.

Who am I talking to?

One person, on the other side of one call. There is no public room, no audience, and nobody else in the conversation. How choosing someone works, and what it costs, is set out on Monkey App girls.

Can I end a call early?

At any moment, without a reason. Either person can. Ending a call is not rude and does not count against you.

Someone I was talking to is gone

People drop off for ordinary reasons — a call, a bad signal, a battery. Availability changes constantly; who was around ten minutes ago may not be now. If calls keep ending in the first minute, it is usually one of six fixable things.

Coins and billing

What does a call cost?

Calls are paid for with coins, bought in advance. Each person sets her own price, so there is no single rate across the service — the price you are about to pay is shown before the call is connected. The whole mechanism, including why nobody quotes a per-minute rate, is in what a video call actually costs.

Is anything free?

A new account gets a trial allowance. How much it is is decided automatically, which is why you will not see a promise of "X free minutes" anywhere on this site — it is not a number anyone here can commit to. After that, calls are paid.

Will I be charged without noticing?

A notice appears on screen before billing starts on a call. If your balance runs out mid-call, the call ends rather than quietly continuing on credit.

How do I buy coins?

From inside your own account, on a payment page you opened yourself. Nobody should ever ask you for payment details during a call — see the safety centre.

Can I get a refund?

Untouched purchases can be returned within 14 days, coins you have already spent cannot, and a charge that is simply wrong gets put right. The full rules are in the terms; to start one, write to support with the date and the amount.

Camera and microphone

The camera will not turn on

Work through these in order — the first two fix most of it:

  • Open the site in Safari or Chrome rather than inside another app's browser.
  • Close anything else using the camera — a video call in another tab, a camera app left open.
  • Check the site's camera permission in your browser settings, and allow it.
  • Reload the page, then run the camera check on the homepage. It looks only at your own device, records nothing, and uploads nothing.
  • Restart the browser. On a phone, closing the tab is not the same as closing the browser.

They cannot hear me

Check that the microphone is not muted in the call, that your browser has microphone permission, and that your phone is not routing audio to headphones you are not wearing.

The picture is frozen or breaking up

That is nearly always the connection at one end. Move closer to the router, switch off other downloads, or swap between Wi-Fi and mobile data. A video call needs steady upload as well as download, which is why a connection that streams video fine can still struggle here.

The five things that go wrong most

If you are here because something is not working, try these before anything else. In order, they account for most of what support gets asked.

  • The page is open inside another app. Messenger, Instagram, TikTok and email apps all open links in their own stripped-down browser, which commonly blocks camera access. Tap the menu and choose "open in browser".
  • Another program is holding the camera. A video call in a second tab, a camera app left running, a meeting client in the background. Only one thing can use a camera at a time.
  • The permission was refused once and remembered. Browsers store that answer. Clear it in site settings and reload — you will be asked again.
  • The balance ran out. A call that ends abruptly part-way is usually this, not a fault.
  • The connection is fine for video but not for calling. Calling needs steady upload too, which streaming does not.

Your account

Can I change what is on my profile?

Yes, from your account settings. What you put there is what the other person sees — nothing is published anywhere public.

Can I use the same account on my phone and my computer?

Yes. It is the same account in any browser you sign in from, and your coins go with it.

I am not getting the emails

Check the spam folder first, then check the address on the account is one you can actually read. If it is wrong, support can help — write from the address you do control and say so.

How do I delete everything?

Delete the account from your settings. What survives deletion and why is explained in the privacy policy — in short, only records that have to be kept for legal or anti-abuse reasons, in the narrowest form that serves that purpose.

Reporting, blocking and account problems

Someone behaved badly

Block them — it is permanent — and report the call. Reports are read by people, and accounts that break the rules are removed for good. What to expect afterwards is set out in the safety centre.

I was banned somewhere else and cannot get in

A restriction on another platform has nothing to do with your account here, and nothing there transfers either way. If that is what brought you, the ban itself is explained in banned from the Monkey app.

My account was restricted

The rules are in the community guidelines. If you think it was a mistake, write to support with the account and what you were doing at the time.

I want my data, or I want my account gone

You can delete your account from your account settings. To ask for a copy of what is held about you, or a correction, see the privacy policy — asking costs nothing.

Still stuck

Work through Monkey App not working first — it is ordered by how often each cause turns out to be the real one — and if you are on an iPhone, the iPhone guide covers the two permission layers iOS puts in the way. Still stuck: write to support. Say what you were doing, on what device and browser, roughly when, and what you have already tried — a message that can be looked up gets answered faster than one that cannot. Never include a password.
